Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch

The hip flexor stretch shown here stretches the hip flexor muscles at the front of the hip. This is great for people who sit at a desk all day as the hip flexors become shortened.

Teaching Points:

  • To stretch the muscles at the front of the hip, place the knee on the floor with the other leg in front as shown.
  • Push forwards from the hips, keeping the back upright.
  • If this causes pain, do not continue!
  • Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds, rest and repeat 2-3 times.
